Teddi Jo Mellencamp is the newest addition to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. So many things spring to mind to say about the show right now, not about Teddi but the show in general, but I’ll behave for the moment. The show has become popular as one of the many reality shows that depicts how housewives in Beverly Hills, CA get along, go through their normal day, and interact with one another. For those that don’t watch such shows it might seem like another way for some folks to grandstand and show how their lives can be more difficult for being a celebrity than some would understand. For those that do watch it’s more like satire in some ways and a good bit of entertainment to be hand on a continual basis. Hopefully Teddi Jo will find herself welcomed in without too much trouble and will be able to add something to the show.
I’m not sure there’s much she could take away.
5. She’s John Mellencamp’s daughter.
This one should be pretty obvious just going by the name. There aren’t a whole lot of Mellencamp’s in show business and probably none that would dare claim to be related to John. It’s not really certain if her father was that much of an influence on her current position in life or if she did it all on her own but it’s an easy thing to be certain that she is in fact his family.
4. She’s a mother and a stepmother.
She’s pulling double duty right away since she has two children between herself and her husband and one stepdaughter from her husband’s previous marriage. Without being completely invasive it’s hard to know just how well she and her stepdaughter get along but taking care of someone else’s kid and having to treat them like your own is a very hard thing to do, no matter that many stepmoms do it quite naturally.
3. She struggles with her weight.
You wouldn’t think so to look at her but Teddi Jo apparently has issues with her weight as far as putting it back on and then taking it back off. She’s not a huge woman so adding a few pounds might be more noticeable than it would on anyone else. But still, according to most pictures as of now she looks pretty good, but that could be because she’s kind of a fitness junkie.
2. She’s starring on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
I find myself hoping that she’s not wandering into a sea of sharks without a clue as to what she’s getting into. I don’t think that’s the case but swimming waters such as those represented by the show seems like it would test anyone’s reserve and patience night after torturous night. Here’s hoping she can push past the worst of it and let the other women know that she won’t be pushed around.
1. She’s an accountability coach.
I kind of blanked when I read the definition of this. If this position had existed when the lot of us were kids I do believe it would have been one of the most laughable professions of all time. I still don’t fully buy it since people need to learn how to be accountable for their own lives. If she makes it work then great for her.
Hopefully the show doesn’t change her that much, if at all.
