Sosie Bacon is, as you might have already guessed, the daughter of legendary stars Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick. She’s been given the chance to lead a fairly normal life since her parents chose not to involve her in show business until it was her choice to do so. Even then they didn’t fully approve, but at some point there’s not a lot you can do to stop your kids from doing what they want. Since then she’s gone on to an acting career that has seen her steadily rise in the ranks and take on a few roles that have seemed made for her as he attempts to keep climbing the Hollywood ladder.
She looks so much like her parents it’s eerie.
5. Her parents were adamant about keeping her away from acting.
For whatever reason both Bacon and Sedgewick were determined to keep their daughter away from acting for many years. It could have been that they knew how hard it was to break into the scene and that they didn’t want their little girl to go through all the trouble. Acting is after all kind of brutal to the uninitiated and can take a heavy toll on those that aren’t ready for it.
4. She was given a role in 13 Reasons Why.
She plays the role of Skye on the show and is kind of social outcast. This show makes you want to avoid high school at all costs even if you’ve done your time and moved on. It’s not so horrible that you won’t want to watch it, but it is kind of depressing in a way when you remember just how things could be in high school and why you’re glad it’s over.
3. She was crowned as Miss Golden Globe in 2014.
This is kind of a big deal since Miss Golden Globe helps with the ceremony and is considered to be a big part of the show. Usually the recipient of this honor is the daughter of at least one celebrity if not two.
2. Her parents had to broker an agreement that her acting not interfere with her education.
For the most part Sosie tried out acting and found that it was a lot of fun and something she would like to keep doing. Her parents though were adamant that it not interfere with her studies at all, to which the director of any show or movie she was selected for had to agree to honor. At least one of them said it was more like a treaty negotiation than a formal agreement. Thankfully Sosie is 25 now and able to make her own decisions.
1. Her father actually cast her in a movie.
This would probably be seen to be highly hypocritical of her father and likely a lot of people felt the same way when he cast her for the film Loverboy, but he had an answer to it that people still weren’t likely to believe. He said that he was thinking as a director and not a father, which seems odd if a person can just turn off that part of their brain.
Like I said, she’s a big girl now, she can make her own choices.
