Five Things You Didn’t Know about Skyler Samuels

You might think there are a lot of pretty blondes running around Hollywood today just as there have always been, and you’d be right. However, in this day and age a woman can’t just get by on her looks alone, as every starlet with a twinkle in her eye and an alluring look to give the camera is worth about as much as the paper their resume is built upon.  In other words, it takes a little more to distance oneself from the thousands of hopefuls that show up in Hollywood every year trying to make their name shine a little brighter so that it’s worthy of the chance to strut what they have in front of the camera. And even then, just being pretty isn’t enough, sometimes you’ve got to diversify, mix it up a little, show that you’re more than just a pretty face. Skyler Samuels seems to have figured that part out thankfully.

Here are five things you didn’t know about Skyler Samuels

5. She has her own fashion app.

For a young actress she’s quite an impressive entrepreneur. It’s definitely wise to have something to fall back on if the acting career doesn’t quite go her way, and fashion is definitely where it’s at.  This hardworking actress has figured out that one job just isn’t enough most times.

4. She left Scream Queens to go back to school (temporarily).

There was a point and time when a lot of actors and actresses didn’t think they needed a regular education. They no doubt believed that they could skate by on good looks and their acting talent. Kudos to Samuels for recognizing that being a student and an actor is far more lucrative than just sticking with one or the other.

3. Jamie Lee Curtis was her mentor on the set.

A lot of people get to idolize their favorite actor/actress, but not everyone gets the chance to work right alongside of them. Curtis has actually given Samuels a great deal of tips on acting and how to hone her craft, which sounds way too awesome for a young woman that’s been a fan most of her life.

2. She left Stanford to do the first season of Scream Queens.

When you’re given an opportunity it’s usually best to run with it, especially if you’re asked in person by the creator of a show, or co-creator. School obviously wasn’t going anywhere, so Samuels did the smart thing and hopped on board.  Considering that she went back to school partway through the firs season it seems to have been the best possible decision.

1. She’s been in various TV shows and films.

This isn’t the first time Samuels has been on TV. She’s had stints with ABC and Disney that saw her rise to stardom throughout her career, so she’s no stranger to the Hollywood landscape. There’s no doubt however that Scream Queens definitely catapulted her career to another level of sophistication.

Some starlets are little more than flashes in the pan that enjoy a bit of success and are gone far too quickly. Others have come to realize that in order to be truly successful you need to have a little something more to stay relevant as an actor, and those are the ones that tend to last.
