Five Things You Didn’t Know about Romy Rosemont

If you’ve seen Glee, you will know Romy Rosemont as Carole Hudson — the mother of Finn, step-mother to Kurt, and wife to Burt. This role, which she first took in 2010, was her big break and what brought her into the public eye. She has also acted on Grey’s Anatomy, CSI, and Prison Break (among other shows). One of her more recent roles is as Diane Matthews in Freeform’s Beyond. If you want to catch this actress in her element, you should check out the new season of the show that was released on January 18th of this year.

Romy Rosemont is a talented actress, and was unknown for far too long (she is now 53 years old). However, we can at least be grateful that she has come into the spotlight now — it’s better than never. How much do you really know about this actress, though? If you want to learn a little more, read on and we will go over Five Things You Didn’t Know about Romy Rosemont.

She’s Persistent and Tenacious

Romy Rosemont has always wanted to act. She loves acting more than anything else in the world, and has been willing to work as hard as possible to make a living out of it. She’s done her best in bad positions, working low-paying jobs and generally keeping at the grindstone to make her acting dreams come true. Eventually, her work did pay off. As she says, it is fine to get discouraged — but you need to brush those feelings off and keep your passion alive. That is what success is based on.

She Hosted a Talk Show

The actress once ran a talk show called Bitter Party of Five. The premise of the show was that five actors from a denied NBC pilot were going to get together and start a show. They play different versions of themselves on the show — Romy calls her character Bitter Romy — and interview celebrities in a very tongue-in-cheek and humorous manner. All of the episodes of the show (about 15 of them) are available on YouTube, and are definitely worth a watch.

She’s Married to Stephen Root

In 2008, Romy Rosemont tied the knot with actor Stephen Root. Known for his work in O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Lone Ranger, and No Country for Old Men — as well as voice acting credits in Rango, Finding Nemo, and Ice Age — Stephen Root is one of those guys who you don’t quite recognize by name. However, when you see him you will know who he is right away. He is a talented and generous guy — he even donated $100,000 to the University of Florida so that they could start an acting division.

She Appreciates the Importance of Netflix

Rosemont realizes that Netflix was a huge contributor to the success of Beyond. She states that having all of the episodes available will make people binge-watch — and they will only binge-watch shows that they like. Rosemont believes that the Netflix availability was directly related to the quick renewal of the show, as the producers didn’t have to wait four or five weeks to see how much people really liked it.

She Wants to Act as a Super Hero

In an interview from 2012, Romy Rosemont stated that the “idea of playing any super hero would be a dream come true”. She loves to do her own stunts, and doesn’t mind training extremely hard for a role. Her top choice of a super hero to play would be Wonder Woman, but she expressed an interest in any role from Marvel.
