Five Things You Didn’t Know About Nico Tortorella

Younger is one of the most popular shows currently on cable television. It appeals to the millennial generation a great deal and it also has some interesting plot lines for individuals that are older. As far as the show itself goes, there are lots of reasons to tune in, not the least of which involves finding out what the characters are getting themselves into from one week to the next. One of the people that stars on the show is Nico Tortorella, who plays Josh, the younger love interest of Sutton Foster’s character. If you keep reading, you are likely to find out a few things that you didn’t know about him, and some of them might surprise you.

1. He’s also a model

This shouldn’t really be all that surprising, as he definitely has the right body for modeling. However, a lot of people don’t know that he was a model before he started acting in television. It’s interesting to know that he also played a model in one of his first television acting roles, but the show was canceled early on and the role didn’t really go anywhere.

2. He recently scored a leading film role

The film is titled Hunter & Game and was released in 2015. In the film, he plays something of a head-banging musician with just a few personal issues. He says that it was a role he was meant to play. By all accounts, the statement couldn’t be more true, and he definitely seems like he has found his place in this role. Who knows, it just might come to be one of those defining roles that he is associated with for the rest of his life.

3. He’s open to different sexual experiences

Tortorella actually identifies as bisexual. Therefore, he is completely fine with the idea of being sexual with either a man or a woman. It is interesting to note that this is not really something that a lot of people know about him, especially when you consider the fact that he openly stated this in a past interview.

4. He started acting when he was young

While he didn’t get his first television role until after his modeling career took off, he did act in professional theater as a teenager. While he was there, he honed his acting skills and learned how to become the actor that he is today. As early as the seventh grade, he was acting professionally while his classmates were focusing on other things.

5. He got a modeling contract on the spot

In 2007 he walked into an office for Ford Models during one of their open call sessions. He was offered a contract before he ever left the building and he has been modeling in one capacity or another ever since. Chances are, all of that prior experience that he had working in the theater actually helped him land that modeling contract because he already knew how to act in front of an audience.
