For anyone that is used to watching television the traditional way, on TV, you may not know about a new series entitled “Lifeline.” More importantly, you may not realize it but the entire project would not exist if it were not for megastar Dwayne Johnson. With that being said, there are five things that you might not know about this new show, but you really need to know them. Chances are, once you read a little more about it, you too will be wanting to tune in and watch the series, even if you can’t do it in a traditional sense.
1. Dwayne Johnson produces the series
If you are a fan of Dwayne Johnson, you probably want to follow everything that he is involved in. The truth is, he is involved in a lot of different things and this is one more thing that he is about to add to his plate. Sure, you are used to seeing him in front of the camera but in this particular instance, he is producing this series, something that many people consider to be fairly new territory for him.
2. Johnson has dreamed of doing this for a long time
In reality, Johnson has been dreaming of doing this series for quite some time. He actually announced that it would finally become a reality last year but it has been something he has wanted to do long before that. The show itself is extremely interesting, featuring a corporation that is capable of traveling in time in order to save the lives of other individuals. The catch is that they won’t do it unless they can make money with each save. There is so much promise to the show and so many different storylines they can be written with a plot like this that it will be interesting to see which direction the show actually goes. Needless to say, it has become Johnson’s pet project and it is easy to see why
3. It’s not on television
If you are looking for a place to watch this on your TV, you can look all day and you’re not going to find it. That’s because the show isn’t airing on television in any capacity, at least not in the traditional sense. Instead, it is going to be airing on YouTube Red. If you are into the electronic age and you spend a lot of time on YouTube, this won’t be anything new for you. Chances are, there are going to be a lot of people that have never watched any series on YouTube in the past that will be changing their minds and doing exactly that in the future.
4. It has plenty of star power
This show Stars Zach Gilford, Amanda Crew, Sydney Park, Eden Estrella, and Usman Ally. As you can see, there are plenty of stars to go around. If you like shows like “The Walking Dead” or movies like “Furious 7,” you should already be familiar with many of the people that are starring in the show. That alone will help it gain its own fan following, not to mention the small fact that is produced by one of the most popular stars in existence.
5. It starts October 11th
It won’t be long before fans can tune in on their computers, tablets, or smartphones and see the series for themselves. Before you know it, you just might find yourself hooked on something entirely new that operates in an entirely new platform, at least if you are accustomed to using a television to keep up with your favorite series.
