Gregg Sulkin is a British actor who was born in Westminster, London, on May 29, 1992. Although he grew up in the UK and attended school there, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting and this is where he now lives. He is best known for his roles on Disney Channel’s television series ‘Wizards of Waverley Place’ and ‘As the Bell Rings’. He was also in the cast of the Disney Channel movie ‘Avalon High’. In 2016, he was in the horror-thriller movie ‘Don’t Hang Up’, taking on the role of Sam Fuller. His career is going from strength to strength and he now has a role in Marvel’s ‘Runaways’ lined up for 2017.
Here are five things that you didn’t know about Gregg Sulkin.
1. He is Passionate About Soccer but He Doesn’t Play Fair
Sulkin is a huge soccer fan; both watching the game and playing soccer himself. He supports Arsenal F.C., an English club, so he is sticking with his roots. When he takes to the pitch himself, it is like he has a personality transplant. He is usually a pleasant and mild mannered man but this all changes when he plays soccer. In fact, he says that he has had more red cards than he cares to admit.
2. He is Comfortable with Being a Heartthrob
His role in ‘Faking It’ has led to him becoming a hit with the ladies and earning the reputation of a heartthrob. This is something he says he is comfortable with although it has come as a surprise. He attended and all-boys school so has not felt confident talking to women in the past. It is not just the female fans he enjoys; he is pleased to have the support of everyone. However, he has said in interviews that the ‘Pretty Little Liars’ fans were the craziest.
3. He Knows What He Wants from a Girlfriend
According to Sulkin, honesty and punctuality are the two most important traits he is looking for in a woman. Unfortunately, it seems he has not found the right woman yet. This hasn’t stopped him from trying, though. In the past, he has been linked to several high-profile women, including Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, and Debby Ryan.
4. He Can Do Several Accents
As he was born in the UK, he obviously has an English accent. However, most of his roles require him to use an American accent and this is something with which he now has vast experience. Living in the United States has helped with this. An American accent is not the only one that he can do though as his attempts at an Irish accent are pretty good. Trying new accents for a role is not something he shies away from.
5. He Acted Just Once at School
While many performers start from an early age, this wasn’t the case for Gregg Sulkin. In fact, he acted just once while he was at school. He played the part of a cockney girl and had to wear high heels and put socks down his top for the role.
