Life can get complicated and messy in a very big hurry, as most of us likely already know. So what do we do when fate just seems throwing things our way? One of the best things to do is just keep moving forward as much as possible, as Catastrophe would seem to indicate. If you can change it, then do so. If you have to adapt, then do it. If you have to just accept it and move on, well, it’s recommended, but it’s not the easiest path. The show has thus far gained a decent following and for good reasons, which will be revealed below shortly.
Here’s why you should be watching this show, or at least giving it a look.
5. It’s a vivid picture of how life can really be.
A lot of shows bank on the unreal and entertaining quality of a TV show. Shows that get too real can sometimes fall victim to their own adherence to the factual world upon which they’re based. This show however goes into great detail concerning the life that Sharon and Rob are sharing and doesn’t pull many, if any, punches when it comes to displaying their relationship and the real pitfalls they experience.
4. The characters are very easy to relate to.
What this means is that people can watch the show and say “I know how that feels”. If you watch a TV show the desire to relate to the characters can become a reason for watching and eventually coming to value the time spent. Shows that don’t cater to their audiences at all tend to be loved for their unreality or considered just so-so due to their lack of realism in a real world situation. The more a viewer can connect with the characters on TV, the easier it is to watch.
3. It has an engaging story line.
It’s easy to believe that several viewers if not more will enjoy the story as it moves forward at the kind of pace that real life does. It’s not so much stop and go as it is stop, wait, go, wait, wait, go, then stop again and go. While that might not be the right cadence it is an approximation of life that is easy to understand and get into. Viewers can at least understand the story and get into because they have in effect lived this type of story in their own lives.
2. It deals with real world issues.
The one very real issue that makes this true, despite there being several, is that during her pregnancy she is told that her chances of having a child with Down Syndrome is increased because of her age. Thousands if not millions of women across the world run this risk each year as the average age of women who are becoming pregnant fluctuates from time to time. The older a woman gets the more risky their pregnancy can become, which a very real issue.
1. The next series won’t be out until early 2018
This got added for fun because if you’ve been watching then now you really have to keep watching to find out what’s going to happen after the end of the third series. Are you a dedicated viewer or are you still new to the show? In any case it’s worth watching for the story, the acting, and the very real feel it gives to its characters.
As far as realism goes the show fires on all cylinders, and most fans tend to like this.
