“The Newsroom”, “The Daily Show” and “Attack of the Show” actress Olivia Munn has joined History’s the military drama “Six” by the A+E network as a regular in the series’ season two. According to the History network, the military drama “Six” has resumed production for a new season (Season two). Barry Sloane and Walton Goggins are starring in the military drama. Season two has been scheduled to start filming in summer (this summer).
In season two of the military drama “Six” series, Olivia Munn will enlist as a totally new character. She is set to play Gina, a ruthless, no-nonsense, and smart operative of the CIA who has risen through the CIA ranks, from being a shooter to becoming senior operations officer. Some of Olivia Munn’s past roles are Psylocke in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’, and ‘Office Christmas Party’ together with Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman.
We expect the military drama “Six” series that’s produced by Weinstein Television and A+E Studios, to a greater extent, be a continuation of season one. The storyline will follow the happenings of season one where the drama was build around following the Navy SEAL Team Six members, the team that can be best described as the modern day American heroes whose undercover mission to kill Taliban leader, a terrorist and fugitive living in the remote parts of Afghanistan goes against their expectation when they discover that one of their countrymen, a U.S Citizen is collaborating with the Taliban terrorists. Season two will also feature a rescue mission for the ex-SEAL Team Six military unit leader Richard ‘Rip’ Taggart [Walton Goggins] from the hands of terrorist group Boko Haram. In the mission, the team members decide to put aside their differences and become a united front in a bid to achieve one goal; to find and rescue Walton Goggins.
According to the series’ executive producers Bob Weinstein and Harvey, the series production has been inspired by the actual mission of America’s Navy SEAL Team Six. This unit is well known for their role in the killing of al-Qaida leader, terrorist and fugitive Osama Bin Laden. This drama had a debut in 18th January this year (2017). The drama seeks to explore the emotional realities of what it entails to be a member of the SEAL Team Six, the exceptionally hard-to-understand personal lives and the do or die decisions they make in their bid to protect the interests of America.
The new character Munn will feature in every one of the 10 episodes of season two, up from eight in the freshman season, which is scheduled to start production this season. In season two, Munn is set to join another new drama character “The Killer” (Eric Ladin) who will act as Trevor. Trevor will be portrayed as a highly-skilled SEAL who comes in to break the status quo.
The ensemble of “Six” will include Barry Sloane, Juan Pablo Raba, Kyle Schmid, Edwin Hodge, Nadine Velazquez, Brianne Davis, Dominic Adams, Lindsley Register, and Jaylen Moore.
