Amazingly enough, the mania that is Star Trek is literally 50 years old. Yup, the show began all the way back in 1966. And in those 50 years the creators of the show and those after them have told stories of fearless explorers who work tirelessly to explore and chart the undiscovered secrets of space, the final frontier. Oh and by the way, the shows and movies are also about aliens, ray guns, weird cars, and a bunch of other wild stuff.
Through captains Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway and Archer, viewers can fully immerse themselves in the lives and philosophies of a vast expanse of sci-fi races and species. To even begin watching Star Trek if you haven’t can be an extremely challenging task. However, the folks at Mashable have created a series called Too Long: Didn’t Watch to help you out. This brief “starter manual” as they call it will help you understand the major points of the franchise.
