Sophie Turner from Game of Thrones is a sausage reviewer. Don’t laugh, it’s real, and as wacky as it sounds she takes it quite seriously since she goes all over tasting sausage and rating it on how it looks, tastes, and the other qualities it might have. You should already be able to imagine the low-brow and crude humor that might accompany this revelation so it goes without saying that you won’t hear the continuation of such things here. Sophie Turner is a great actress on the rise still since she’s been with Game of Thrones since the beginning and her character has finally seemed to come into her own on the show as of last season. But to think that Sansa might be the kind of woman that would critique crispy, golden brown sausages is, well, an interesting if odd fact.
It seems like an interesting, if odd thing to do, but she seems to enjoy it. Her critiques usually never go above an 8 which either means she’s on the hunt for that elusive, perfect sausage or she simply doesn’t believe in giving a perfect score to something that’s manufactured by the hundreds. Or there could be another reason that we don’t know about, though it seems to be that she has never given a rating above her highest even if she happened to enjoy the meal. That says she has extremely high standards for the food she takes in which isn’t a bad thing really since it makes her aware of what she’s eating and just how good it tastes or what it might be lacking. A lot of us probably don’t think about what we’re eating so long as it fills our stomach, which is pretty natural so long as the food we’re consuming looks, smells, and tastes good. That’s more of a comfort thing to be honest but when your giving your opinion of a food it tends to be a little different since you’re required to analyze and thoroughly discuss whatever you liked or didn’t like about it. That almost seems like a way to ruin the food experience for some people.
Honestly being a food critic seems like it would be a drag at times since the passion some people have for food is usually based on personal experience and likes vs. dislikes. When you have to take into account everything that goes into your food without just enjoying it on a more visceral and less analytical level it seems like you’re tasking your taste buds to partake of something but not really get into the moment since they have to relay the kind of information it takes to calculate just how well cooked, seasoned, and formed the sausage really is. If you walked into a place that specialized in sausage they might actually get a bit uppity at this kind of thing or possibly appreciate it fully, it’s hard to tell.
It’s not the worst hobby in the world but it’s definitely not for those that just like to eat without thinking.
