Another week, another gut busting episode of everyone’s favorite sharp dressed men. The Duck Dynasty gang were at the top of their game this week, and good laughs were had by all.
This week, Jep’s daughter (who is 11) has a “date” with a boy from school, and Jep and Jessica decide to chaperone said date to go putt-putt in the cold. Jep, as any father would, shudders at the thought of his daughter dating. And of course, with her being 11, who could blame him? Anyhow, Jep and Jessica play putt putt with the happy 11 year olds, and it turns out that the kid is “kinda nerdy” but he’s just as sweet as candy. He brought her a lily (her name is Lily) and everything, and turns out the kid also loves to hunt! Eventually (after beating him in putt putt), Jep concedes that he’s a nice kid and it’s okay to hang out with Lily. Say it with me! Awwwwwww!
Meanwhile, this episode also featured the return of beloved radio host, The “Mountain Man”. The Mountain Man (I’ll just call him MM from now on) wants to have a radio contest, in which the contestants keep their hands on a truck and the last man standing, wins. Of course, he doesn’t have a truck, so he comes to Willie for a donation. Willie (okay, Korie) is very generous, and gives MM a donation. Upon Willie, Jase, and Si’s arrival to spectate the contest, they find that Willie was the only sponsor, and the prize has been downgraded (or upgraded, depending on how you look at it) to a wood chipper. Since they’re the only ones that showed up, Si places his hand on the wood chipper, but right before the contest begins, Willie (doesn’t want Si to get the wood chipper that he paid for) also places his hand on the wood chipper. As Si would say “It’s on like Donkey Kong, Jack!”
After a short while, and a lot of funny moments, Willie’s bladder proves to be weaker than Si’s, and Si wins the wood chipper. I can’t pretend I didn’t know that would happen, but I enjoyed every minute of the ride there. This episode was true to Duck Dynasty form and had a lot of great moments. Here are some of my favorite quotes from the episode:
“If I squint my eyes that means diarrhea”- Willie
“I need to start paying more attention to the things I’m agreeing to”- Willie
“In war time, you could turn it into a torture chamber”- Si, on things you can do with a wood chipper
“You’re in for a world of hurt, Jack”- …3 guesses
“3 days in ‘Nam without going to the bathroom!!”- Mountain Man
“Well he looks kinda nerdy, that’s good”- Jep, on Lily’s “date”
“This is hilarious, I gotta call somebody”- Jase
“That’s what you call the ‘tinkle dance'”- Si
“Willie’s got a bullet in the chamber”- Jase
“Keep your grubby cootie mitts off my daughter, poindexter”- Jep, the overprotective dad
As you can see, there were a lot of great quotes in this week’s episode, including some that I left out. If you’ve watched Duck Dynasty but let it get away from you in recent seasons, it’s time to come back home, Jack! Great showing by the show so far in season 6, and it shows no signs of letting up. Until the next new episode!
