In what would easily be one of the biggest political moves in history, reports are saying that Donald Trump is actually considering dumping Steve Bannon and Reince Preibus from his administration. For the record every single time I type Reince Preibus and I always type Prince Reibus first. I can’t help it. This move would be unprecedented. It’s pretty obvious that things aren’t exactly going smoothly in the White House thus far and given Donald Trump’s approval rating as well as ego-maniac personality I wouldn’t be surprised if he pulls the trigger. Honestly this wouldn’t even be about politics. I think this would be about his image.
Trump knows for a fact if he dumped these two guys his approval rating would skyrocket (depending on who he replaced them with). What would be hilarious is if Trump eventually molded this administration into a Democratic one, which by the way wouldn’t really be all that surprising.
“There’s a real frustration among many – including from the president – that things aren’t going as smoothly as one had hoped,” one of the interviewees told Politico, adding: “Reince, fairly or not, is likely to take the blame and take the fault for that.” Others weren’t as kind, telling the outlet Priebus’ “sheer incompetence” was to blame for the perceived “lack of management, and … strategy.”
Axios is also reporting that the possibilities for chief of staff include the following candidates: House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), Wayne Berman of Blackstone Group, David Urban of the Washington advisory firm American Continental Group, and Gary Cohn, Trump’s economic adviser.
