Who Would Danny Pudi Take in a Superhero Fantasy Draft?

Everyone knows Danny Pudi from his portrayal of Abed on Community.   However, tonight marks the premiere of Powerless which Pudi is a part of.  Powerless is a workplace comedy that’s set in a superhero world.   As Vanessa Hudgens says in the trailer, “it’s a superhero world, we just live in it.”  Pudi and his co-workers (Vanessa Hudgens among them) are the people you see in superhero movies who actually flee the villains.   The show takes the point of view of these people in a way that’s snarky, smart, and kind of “aloof” when it comes to how amazing superheroes are.

Early indications are that the show is going resonate and be a success.  However, we will certainly not know until this evening.   Pudi plays a character named Teddy.  Fans got a glimpse of his character at the San Diego Comic Con and recently website Uproxx had a chance to interview Pudi. When the subject of superheroes came up, Pudi dished on who his character Teddy would like.

For Teddy, Teddy loves The Flash for many reasons. Just like Danny. I think you kind of get to see why Teddy loves The Flash because there are some similarities there, but it takes a lot to impress Teddy. One, you’ve got to have a really well-tailored outfit. You have to have good color coordination. Probably similar body type. You’ve got to be helping out people for the right reasons. Some of those things, I think, make Flash a really great pick for his fantasy superhero draft.

There are other great questions posed to Pudi in the interview so you should definitely check it out.  What do you guys think of the potential of Powerless?  Will it be a success? I personally think this is going to revolve around whether or not Vanessa Hudgens can carry a show.  That remains to be seen.  The concept is solid but might be tough to pull off.

In case you haven’t seen the official trailer, here it is:
