In “MasterChef Junior” Season 5, episode 1, “Quest for the Apron, Pt.1,” viewers saw the first eight chefs secure their spots in the top 20. However, fans of the show will have to wait until episode 2, “Quest for the Apron, Pt. 2,” to find out which 12 contestants will fill the remaining spots. Of the eight winners today we’re going to profile the the one who we think might win the whole thing. Meet Cydney Sherman.
Cydney, 10, of Brooklyn, New York, is already posting some major competition among the contestants, she just might be chef Ramsay’s favorite. When she is not competing on the series, the New Yorker enjoys making roasted lamb chops with a mint and lemon marinade and roasted potatoes.
For a 10-year-old Cydney certainly seems to be well beyond her years which could be why Ramsay is already favoring her. As the show goes on I’m sure we’ll get to know her more. As far as any plans to open her own NYC eatery it’s a little early to tell. However, Cydney is well on her way to impressing Chefs Ramsay and Tosi and she can certainly cook a meal for my family anytime.
Below you can see a clip of Christina Tosi talking with the youngest contestant, Grace, who is only 8 years old. Just watch this girl chop. It’s unbelievable. Plus she’s talking while chopping. Can I hire any of these kids for a cocktail party?
