This is a young person’s car, plain and simple. Or it could be a very eccentric Jurassic Park fan’s car, but I can almost guarantee a lot of other folks would not take a second look at this thing. It’s impressive looking to be honest but it’s not something I could see spending more than $100 for unless I’d left three quarters of my brain on vacation that day and just wanted to spend money. Here’s where I’m thankful to my wife for holding onto my last little bit of sanity for moments just such as this.
It’s not a bad looking car, don’t get me wrong. It’s just that as far as room goes, looks, and possibly anything else that a family person might look at, it’s not entirely optimal. It’s made more for a young person that wants to ferry around their friends and look cool for a little while doing it. It’s not the most practical vehicle really and it doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence when the owner actually states in the original article that it does need some work done. Anytime I see a car going on sale for less than a thousand my first question is typically “What’s wrong with it?”
I get the feeling I wouldn’t want to know the answer with this rig. While this Jurassic Park Fiat Van might sell on Ebay it shouldn’t be called a bargain without knowing full well what you’re getting into.
I’d really like to know what the blue lights are for and what possible purpose they have for being under the car and directly under the front bumper. If a car gets this close then you’ve got bigger problems than low visibility. Plus, if it’s just for looks then you might want to spruce up the exterior first to make sure it matches the glam of the lights.
You can definitely see the truth behind the original owner’s claim that they did a lot of the paint job on their own. The slightly blurred lines of the ‘claw marks’ have a distinctly blurred look to them that speaks of a less than adequate tape job and possibly a little bleeding of the paint into the areas that should have been sealed off. The front logo looks like it might have been a decal or professionally done at least.
One thing I wonder about is if there’s any permission needed to be rolling around with someone’s logo on your vehicle. I would almost think that someone would need to ask the company responsible for the film if it’s okay to be promoting in such a manner. Otherwise you might be facing a stiff fine otherwise. It could be okay if it’s a personal vehicle though, I’m not sure how those laws work.
There’s evidence of that less than stellar paint job again. It doesn’t take much to tape off a car in order to obtain the kind of look you’re going for. Looking just a little close it looks like the painter went a little light with the rattle can in some areas as well. It could be the reflection though.
It looks fairly standard on the inside, but if you go back to previous pictures it also looks a little crowded. This is definitely a younger person’s car, and I can only hope a younger person purchases it.
