This might be dating me a little bit but I also have no qualms reminding myself and you, our audience, that I’m a man of 38-years-old. It’s why I harp on the 80s and the 90s so much. Not so much the 70s because I wasn’t around for 9 of the years of that decade. Though yeah, I talk about 70s music all the time. One fond piece of nostalgia I take away from my youth is the slinky. Everyone had a slinky and everyone loved their slinky. Also, everyone knew the slinky song.
What you might not know is that over the past 40 or so years, Slinky’s had a number of iterations of their theme song. While the main “Slinky, Slinky!” part remains somewhat the same, there have been a fair share of songs. And even though I wasn’t even alive for this commercials, this is the Slinky theme song that gets stuck in my head from time to time.
Now when it’s time for my 4 year old to play with his first slinky he’ll understand why I won’t stop singing for a few days. Take a walk down memory lane with this classic 70s Slinky commercial.
