Maybe Tina Guo should have been the one to play the theme to World of Warcraft. The entire thing being done on a cello is simply amazing, and the cello she uses to start with is quite interesting to look at. Yes, she is very interesting to look at as well, not to mention beautiful, exotic, hot, and absolutely breathtaking. That is part of why I’m comfortable stating that this should been the bare bones of a World of Warcraft opening theme video of only because of the attention the game could have received from a very alluring woman in an outfit designed more for the adolescent fantasies of men than for practical purposes.
The piece itself is very powerful and drives forward in a manner that gets the heart pumping and nerves dancing as you listen to it ramp up only to soften somewhere just past the middle. The descent into the haunting, pleasing sounds that are heard before it gets going again are a soothing balm to the otherwise hard and very forceful sound that comes before and after. It creates a sort of balance to the piece that might otherwise have been lost if it hadn’t been included. Driving and hard is great for a musical score but there has to be some chance to rest and recover or it simply burns out too fast, at least in my opinion.
World of Warcraft has attracted many would be keyboard warriors since its inception and has been seen to sweep the nation, and possibly the world. People have spent hours and even days on the computer attempting to finish one mission after another and obtain whatever items they can to vanquish this or that foe. It’s become a game that so many people know about but at least some are beginning to realize is simply too much to invest in due to the time it takes to increase one’s level once they reach certain milestones. It can take hours upon hours to complete a single quest that may or may not raise a character another level, and yet some people will do it, taking time only for the necessities such as food, sleep, and bathroom breaks. Some people unfortunately attempt to do without sleep and stay wired for at least a few days before they finally accept that they have to crash.
I can recall the days of playing quest games that I’d go an entire weekend without showering, gross I know, or doing anything but eating and doing my business when necessary. But that’s not even amateur level compared to the people that play World of Warcraft. They’ve been known to go an entire week without doing anything other than playing, making a lot of people feel like the addictive nature of this game is simply too much. It isn’t the game though, it’s the gamer. It takes a responsible person to know when to put the game down and actually live their life.
But seriously, if Tina Guo had done the intro for the main theme, I sincerely think a lot more young men and adolescents would have gotten hooked that much sooner. I might have even joined them.
