I’ll be the first to tell you that I’m a fan of Leah Remini. Ever since she graced our presence playing a teen model on Who’s the Boss and then starring in a spin off I’ve liked her. From her days on Saved by the Bell to her eventual lead role in King of Queens, she always had that tough, gruff, but also pretty way about her. It’s something all of us have always liked. Now Remini will bring her talents to the What About Bob reboot that I’ve complained about before.
What About Barb? will have Remini playing therapist Suzanne, alongside Jessica Gunning (Law & Order: UK), who’s playing the patient-without-boundaries Barb. Joe Port and Joe Wiseman (The Odd Couple, New Girl), who wrote the pilot, will serve as executive producers.
Yes, this is called What about Barb? and is based on the 1991 Bill Murray comedy What about Bob? While I want to give Remini a firm congratulations I still can’t stand behind this reboot. Also is it just me or did anyone else find that movie to not even be remotely funny? Don’t get me wrong. I love Bill Murray but honestly that movie couldn’t have been any dumber. I mean what kind of ending was that? Really? Again, keep getting acting gigs Leah but I just can’t see this show getting off the ground.
I miss these days. Stacy Kerosi!
