The Best Partners in Crime From TV

partners

While it’s cool to be by oneself, it’s always better to do things with someone that you trust. If that person happens to be a good friend, heck, even better. After coming across the History channel’s Bonnie and Clyde: Dead and Alive and watching the two-part series this weekend, we went ahead and thought to rank the best partners in crime from TV and film–so if you come across any of these pairs, watch out!

5. Stringer Bell and Avon Barksdale (The Wire)

While there have been a thousand cop dramas out there, former TV show The Wire was one of my personal favorite. Rather than having the same, continuous, boring plot each and every episode, the show focused on the streets–more specifically the relationship between drug lords Avon Barksdale and Stringer Bell, and how they would avoid ever getting busted by Baltimore police. As one would imagine, the loyalty between the two is what made this relationship so compelling, as it turns out drug dealers aren’t exactly the most trust-worthy people on the planet–but it does make for great TV drama.

4. Nancy and Andy Botwin (Weeds)

When a TV show has the name of Weeds, it’s usually pretty obvious that there’s going to be some illegal activity going on. Each week, viewers knew that the actions of Nancy and Andy Botwin were something that us normal folks would normally not even try–let alone get away with. That’s just a small aspect of why this show was so successful. Not only did these two grow the green stuff. But they sold and embezzled it, too. Oh yeah, and the fact that they were technically related through Nancy’s dead husband–yet had a love affair with Andy, anyway–made this one compelling duo.

3. Stewie and Brian Griffin (Family Guy)

How can’t Stewie and Brian Griffin get recognized here as two of the best partners in crime to ever come across a TV screen? The two–especially when together–are seriously hilarious, getting themselves in dilemmas that are obsurd, yet somehow working together to escape from them. No one knows how the show will unfold, but one thing is for sure, these two characters always find themselves using their dislike for each other to get out of it.

2.Dastardly and Muttley (Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines)

It might be a cartoon–and a show that hasn’t aired in over 40 years–but the two main characters from the TV show Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines are classics, so I had to give them their due here. With Dastardly always scheming up something, his mut best friend was always by his side, never laughing too loudly at the some of the ideas he was trying to put into action.

1. Walter White and Jesse Pinkman (Breaking Bad)

There’s a reason why so many people loved the show Breaking Bad–and the meth-making and selling duo of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman were exactly that reason. Two of the best-written characters in recent memory from TV shows–heck, maybe even in history–the student-teacher relationship morphed into something more than just grading papers and inspiring the younger Pinkman. Together, the two built a meth empire, taking on different dramatic situations and engaging in some crazy crim along the way. When discussing the best partners in crime on TV, no one beats these guys.
