HeroTastics’ posting of “Batman discovers the identity of Superman (all versions) video is pretty radical. It’s entertaining to watch the 2016 compilation that proves Batman is the greatest detective in the world. He’s discovered the true identity of Superman over and over again. Aside from the fact that it’s already had over 197,000 views, here’s why you should watch the video and what you can expect to see.
Opening scene
Batman is sneaking around Clark Kent’s apartment and making a getaway just as Kent’s phone rings. This is Lois and Clark at their finest. Lois calls Clark to tell him that she’s got a breakfast date with Bruce Wayne.Kent is the gentle giant that shows a darkness about the character that makes him seem almost real. Lane is saucier than ever. They’re having a discussion over the telephone and when Kent hangs up the phone, he finds the Batman emblem on his bedspread. As he looks out his open window, he spies the caped detective atop a nearby building spying on him with a set of binoculars. Upon seeing that he’s discovered, Batman makes a quick getaway.
The next version shows batman hacking in on the man of steel via a supercomputer. He’s tracking Superman’s every movement and making note of every place that he frequents. Robin is by his side, adding that he’s got a crush on Lois Lane and frequents the Daily Planet where she works. When he discovers that the real identity of Superman is Clark Kent, he makes the comment, “Hah, and they call me a split personality.” The video ends with Batman appearing as Bruce Wayne, being told by his partner, “You are the world’s greatest detective.”
What’s entertaining about the video
First, it places the two superheroes at direct odds with one another. Neither of them are turning to a life of crime, well unless Batman’s cyber stalking and breaking an entering could be considered to be criminal, but it’s hilarious that Bruce Wayne has stooped to the level of the common man in wondering who Superman really is behind the suit.
Duality of the post
The two videos are dramatically different, although the plot is the same. The first take shows a more modern version of the characters which are in cartoon form, but closer to what they would be like in real life. Lois Lane comes across as a tease and Superman appears to have a dark side. He seems genuinely pissed off when he finds the bauble that tells him Batman was actually in his bedroom and on his bed. It’s even better when he catches the voyeur spying on him from a block away on a rooftop.
The second video is more in line with the older cartoons and Batman comes across as an even darker and pettier figure. He’s hell bent on discovering Superman’s real identity and he doesn’t mind doing a little stalking to find out. His sidekick Robin is a creepy looking little guy that is full of his share of gossip, but really doesn’t have much to contribute, so where is the change there? This is a take on the two superheroes that you really need to watch to get the full benefit, and you can find it here:
