Or is it the other way around? Well, it looks like Diggle’s in a spot of trouble this time around. After being betrayed by Andy and going crazy on Mrs. Darhk, looks like Diggle is hunting Andy. Well, obviously we know it’s not gonna be that easy. Andy is prepared and knocks Diggle out. But it looks like Diggle’s not the only one who’s mad. Oliver declares in a voiceover that there is no length he won’t go to stop Darhk. That sounds less like The Green Arrow and more like the old Arrow. Looks like the show is backing out of it’s promise of making Oliver more of a hero. All this talk of killing is turning Oliver back into the person he’s been for the past three seasons. And look, we get it, he’s done terrible stuff but I thought he wanted to change. It’s like Laurel’s death is turning the team into the villains they fight. Not exactly the best way to handle the aftermath of Laurel’s death. It also feels like the show’s going back to square one after promising to feel like a much different show.
Ok, let’s talk about Genesis. The show’s been teasing genesis since forever, and now we get to see it in action. Except not in this Preview. All we see is Darhk trying to give someone a weird high-five and 2 guys chasing Thea. Well, if Genesis involves a bunch of HIVE soldiers loose in Star City, then it’s a letdown. But it looks to me like the show’s holding back in the teaser. We’ve seen all sorts of stuff happen in Starling City. Superhuman soldiers and League of Assassins. Genesis will have to be something much more if it intends to wow us at all.
As for Diggle, I wouldn’t worry too much. The show’s fresh off a kill, so all our main characters are safe for now. Trust me when I say that this show won’t survive another Laurel. Andy though, seems to have gone too far. It’s past time someone killed him. My money’s on Diggle but that would put the show back on square one right?
