It’s that moment again on America’s Got Talent. The moment where seven acts will join the others in the semi-finals starting next week. Who will be fortunate enough to make it through? Let’s find out.
I was surprised to see Malevo and Ronee Martin in the Dunkin’ Save. Their performances were phenomenal last night! How can America put them in the bottom three? In the end, Malevo (Dunkin’ Save votes) and Linkin’ Bridge ( judge’s votes) made it through to the semi-finals and Ronee was sent home. Perhaps she can get herself a record deal and make a name for herself that way?
I am beyond glad to see Kadan Bart Rockett and his sister make it through to the semi-finals. Their act last night was mind-blowing, and I still can’t figure out how Kadan managed to pop out of the toolbox. I was surprised Blake Vogt is voted through, but America made their choice. Shame Passing Zone didn’t make it through. I would’ve loved to see them include all the judges in their next act. Simon Cowell, you lucky duck!
When Grace VanderWaal and Brian Justin Crum came onto the stage to find out which one of them would make it through, I was rooting for Brian. His rendition of “In The Air Tonight” is incredibly powerful and filled with emotion. Grace’s song was great too, but there’s something about it that just doesn’t quite measure up to Brian’s voice. They both managed to make it through to the next round so we’ll see which one of them will make it to the finals.
The Edgar family band’s performance was stupendous and like Simon, it was one of my favourite acts of the night. When Nick Cannon announced their name as one of the semi-finalists, I almost stood up and cheered. Hope they can give another impressive performance as the competition gets harder and harder.
The show then took an amusing turn as Nick Cannon gave Simon Cowell a series of questions. The show creator/judge then ranked his fellow judges based on his impression of them. It reminded me of the time that Britain’s Got Talent did the same thing. Can’t remember when though. I saw it on YouTube.
Olympic legend Michael Phelps also made an appearance in tonight’s live results show. The twenty-three gold medalist wished all the contestants the best of luck and to have fun no matter what. I think this is a good concept for any competition, don’t you think?
