It’s not so much the end of an era but it is the end of a show that helped to make the era what it is today. As Justin Harp from Digital Spy has indicated there’s a reason why it’s called the Arrowverse, since Arrow has been the driving reason behind why Flash and Supergirl as well as a few others came to be. It’s amusing to think that Green Arrow has been seen as so important after all this time since in the comics he’s been around for quite a while. But the emerald archer finally got his due and it’s a wonder now if the people at DC might be thinking of a movie in his honor after a while since quite honestly it would seem that he’s proven to be the kind of hero that people like and want to see more of. On that we’ll have to wait since there’s no word about a Green Arrow movie just yet, but when it comes to the final season a lot of people are already starting to make predictions that will keep the rumor mill churning for a while.
Here are just a few predictions that might have some basis on what’s to come.
10. We won’t see John Diggle with a power ring.
This might seem kind of controversial since a lot of people have been wanting to see John gain that power ring, but with rumors and news that DC is trying to work on another Green Lantern movie this could be something that’s not bound to happen.
9. Emiko won’t become the next Green Arrow
I kind of have to disagree with David Opie from Digital Spy on this one largely because no matter if Emiko and Oliver made peace it really doesn’t seem like life as the next Green Arrow would be on her list of things to do. People might want to see it, but such a thing might only be an eye-roll away from being a tad bit too corny.
8. Oliver will make a journey to the island where he first became the Green Arrow.
This would actually be a lot of fun to see since it would make the story come full circle and allow the fans a nice sendoff since from whence a person comes they will return and all that talk. It would be a nice homage to how the series really got kicked off and it seems like a lot of people would appreciate it.
7. Oliver’s daughter will carry on his legacy.
This seems kind of self-explanatory even if the future timeline changes since his daughter is pretty tough and doesn’t seem like she’d do anything other than follow in her father’s footsteps given the chance. But we’ll have to wait and see on this one.
6. Team Arrow and the cops will be on the same side again.
As the thugs and vigilantes that were being used finally become criminalized again it would be only sensible to see that Team Arrow, despite being seen as vigilantes, would be an acceptable method of crime control.
5. Star City will still be a dangerous place when the season ends.
Let’s face facts, in any comic book setting the situation almost never ends with crime being completely eradicated and life being made safe and secure for everyone. That wouldn’t really fit with anything that’s come before and it would signal an end to any show or comic that dared to do such a thing.
4. Felicity will not be showing up for the last season.
It’s already been confirmed that the actress won’t be coming back and if she does it would be a huge surprise since quite honestly it would seem as though last season was to be her last appearance. Surprises do happen from time to time, but it doesn’t seem like this is going to be one of those times.
3. Green Arrow will still make a couple of guest appearances before he’s well and truly gone.
These will be more or less a way to finally phase the character out of the Arrowverse and make it known that he went out like a hero. Anyone thinking that he’ll keep coming back is likely fooling themselves since it’s going to probably take a couple of episodes here and there for a proper sendoff.
2. This will be the last season of Arrow we see for the foreseeable future.
There no plans that have been spoken of to bring Arrow back after a while and even if they did it wouldn’t be with Stephen Amell since he’s done with the character. Kind of like the MCU, someone else would have to step up and take the role.
1. Arrow will eventually die.
As Jack Rowand from The Hollywood Reporter might tell people, this has already been foreseen and discussed so it’s not so much a prediction as it is a reality that’s just waiting to be realized.
The end is coming for Arrow, and thankfully we’re already prepared for it.
