10 Things You Didn’t Know About Teri Hatcher

There are a couple of big roles that Teri Hatcher has been known for throughout her career and as Lois Lane and Susan Mayer she’s definitely caught on as one of America’s sweethearts throughout the years. As the years have gone on she’s been seen to take on other projects and other roles as well, but likely as not those two will be what people remember of her in the times to come. Of course there are plenty of other ways that she’ll be remembered and it’s easy to see why since she’s been a big name in show business for so long that forgetting about her is nearly impossible. Once her name is mentioned most people widen their eyes a bit and ‘oh yeah’ while others absolutely fawn over her, and for good reason. While she hasn’t been as prominent as usual in the current era she’s still a big name.

Here are a few other things you might not have known about Teri.

10. At one time she was a cheerleader for the San Francisco 49ers.

Yep, Teri was one of those lovely ladies on the sidelines cheering on the 49ers back in their heyday, long before the whole kneeling issue was ever invented and the Niners were still major contenders for the NFL crown.

9. She auditioned for the show Mad About You.

The role she auditioned for went to Helen Hunt but one can imagine that if it had gone to her that the show might have taken on a different look. Instead it was something rather amusing that got our attention for a while.

8. Teri once broke two ribs during a stumble on Desperate Housewives.

She also suffered an eye injury when a ceiling bulb broke and the shrapnel scratched her eye. Despite these injuries though she was usually right back to work as soon as she could be, though with injured ribs it was probably a lot more difficult.

7. She’s one of three stars that have appeared in every episode of Desperate Housewives.

That’s a lot of dedication to put into a show since there were enough episodes that would make it seem like a constant, everyday job that one might have to undergo in the name of entertainment. But Teri has been all about her work every time she’s on a project so it’s not too hard to imagine that she wouldn’t want to take a lot of time off.

6. She’s admitted that every magazine cover she’s ever done has been airbrushed.

By this point a lot of people should have realized this by now but there are likely those that still don’t realize just how much extra work goes into making the models for so many magazines look absolutely perfect. Teri has spoken out largely to keep people from thinking that this is what they need to aspire to look like.

5. Teri really enjoys fishing.

This is something she’s enjoyed doing ever since she was young and if you’ve ever been much of a fisherman, or not, then you might be interesting knowing that it can be very cathartic if nothing else.

4. She was photographed at one time wearing only Superman’s cape.

This turned out to be one of the hottest pictures of the year as you might imagine. The fact that she was playing the part of Lois Lane in the most popular Superman show of the time obviously did a lot to help out her reputation, and this picture just kind of heightened it even more.

3. Teri has been named one of the world’s sexiest women in a number of publications.

In her younger years she was without a doubt one of the most gorgeous women in the world and she was able to use that to great advantage for a while. After a time though her popularity took a dive and it almost seemed as though we didn’t hear from her for a bit.

2. As she’s gotten older she doesn’t admit to feeling sexier, but she feels more comfortable with herself.

This after all is one of the most important parts of life, feeling comfortable with yourself. Teri has been through a few things in her life and she’s had a decent career for the most part, but growing older and taking the experiences she’s and learning from them is the path to wisdom that a lot of people find that they want to discover eventually.

1. She did have to audition for Desperate Housewives.

Teri didn’t get to just walk in and say she wanted the job, she had to try and win over the casting director just like anyone else. She does admit however that by the time she was done she felt that she had the job in the bag.

She’s been an interesting personality throughout her career, it’d be nice to see more of her as time goes on.
