A lot of us should recognize Zach Braff since he’s been a rather prominent actor for some time now and he’s made the jump from TV to movies pretty easily. Some people might think he’s kind of an odd character while others might think that he’s more interesting than others let on, but one thing is certain, Zach has wanted to be a part of show business for a long time. Obviously he managed to find his way in front of the screen where he began to excel and eventually even found a chance to direct his own movie. His own personality quirks and a case of OCD have been trying at times in his life but he’s come through just fine throughout the years, finding ways to entertain the audience and further his career as he’s become one of the favorite actors of many people that have enjoyed him since his earliest roles.
Here are a few things you might not have known about Zach.
10. He auditioned for a role on Dawson’s Creek.
It’s kind of obvious he didn’t get it, otherwise we’d be talking about his time on the show in one form or another since Zach is kind of a hard guy to miss whenever you see him. But despite the failure to land on this show he did go on to become a very known character in show business.
9. His right leg is just slightly longer than his left.
This is something that does happen on occasion to various people but often goes unreported unless it becomes an issue. Zach however suffered a herniated disc that was related to this condition, which is entirely possible but obviously not all that pleasant.
8. Zach is close friends with a couple of his Scrubs costars.
He’s maintained a good relationship with a couple of his former costars and is actually godfather to Donald Faison’s, who played Turk, child. Whether or not we’ll ever see him and his costars in a show or film again is hard to say, but a Scrubs reunion would be interesting.
7. Somehow he’s constantly mistaken for Dax Shepard.
From a glance this seems possible since they have roughly the same body shape and facial features, but the moment one takes a second look it’s pretty obvious how different they are. Besides that, Dax’s hairstyle is usually a lot more wild than anything Zach is known for.
6. Garden State, his directorial debut, got rejected quite a few times.
No one seemed to want to go ahead with his idea, though he does lament that a lot of ideas were getting pushed through that didn’t get a lot of good hype or reviews. When his movie finally got accepted it became one that a lot of people happened to think was a nice change in response to the epic movies that kept flopping.
5. He’s all about seizing the moments we have.
This alludes to his spirituality or rather the lack of spirituality he really ascribes to since he doesn’t like to think that once we’re gone we move on to another plane of existence. He’d rather enjoy every day we have on this earth and simply call it what it is, a chance to do something with every moment we get.
4. Zach really enjoyed his time on Scrubs.
There’s no doubt they had good days and bad days, but overall it sounds like the crew that he worked with had a lot of fun and the show was something that was just as entertaining behind the scenes as it was for the audience when they got to watch it.
3. He directed a music video for Gavin DeGraw.
Zach has been pushing for years since he started to direct his own movies and a music video is kind of like a short, short movie that allows a person to show their creative side in a very truncated manner. Donald Faison even made a cameo appearance in the video.
2. He’s good friends with James Franco.
Even when you’re famous it pays to have famous friends as many celebrities tend to hang out with one another whether they’ve been in a movie or show together or not. Plus, Dave Franco, James’ younger brother, played a short role on Scrubs before the show went off the air.
1. In his first TV role he had to pose as a girl to get a job.
This was back when he was first getting started and as people might or might not know at this point there are a lot of roles that people can’t see certain actors performing, but when you’re attempting to get your name out there and become a known person one role is just as good as the next a lot of times.
There’s a good chance that a lot of people are going to continue to remember him as J.D., but Zach’s career has transcended far beyond Scrubs at this point.Scrubs
