Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi is a graphic novel series that originates from Japan and has been in existence for the last few years, since 2015 to be exact. The novels themselves are written by Midori Yuma and they feature a plethora of illustrations, like most of the other graphic novels written in this fashion. In this particular case, the illustrations are done by Laruha. So far, there have been five volumes of novels that have been written and from that original set of five volumes, an anime show that is comprised of about 26 episodes has finished its first season, airing on Animax Asia.
The plot centers around the main character, Aoi Tsubaki. It is a pot that deals with portions of Japanese beliefs, especially with concern to the afterlife. The main character is capable of seeing the Ayakashi, a realm of beings that most people are not capable of seeing or having any real first-hand knowledge of. This is part of the cultural beliefs in the story but things are not always as they seem. Although she can see them, she has never been approached by one until one day when she sees one who speaks to her. She comes closer in order to try to better understand what it wants and she ends up being kidnapped by it. She is carried away to another world and eventually, she’s told that the reason for her kidnapping is because her grandfather owed a debt to the Ayakashi, which he failed to repay. Therefore, they tell her that it will become her responsibility to repay that debt by marrying one of them and that she will not ever be able to return to the life that she knew beforehand. Clearly, this is not something that she accepts and the story centers around her negotiating with them as a stalling tactic in order to find a way to get her life back and escape the prison she is being kept in.
There was a lot of action in the first season, not to mention more than a fair share of plot twists. Things were definitely left hanging when the first season ended so it only stands to reason that fans want to know more about the potential for another season. As is the case with so many of these anime series, there is no definite information that is currently forthcoming. The studio hasn’t released anything definite as of yet and that leaves fans wondering when exactly the next season might happen. As it happens, it was virtually impossible to continue with the next season until additional books were written. These books were scheduled to be released in October of this year but their release is running a little bit behind. They should be available for fans virtually any day now and once that happens, the studio can start working on producing the next season of the series
When it’s all said and done, it’s important to remember that it takes a little bit of time to get everything together and finalized in order to create one of these shows. Since they haven’t really started working on the project yet and they’ve been waiting on the source material, you might expect to see the next season some time in the fall of next year. That way, the studio can have plenty of time to get actors in to voice the characters, as well as to finalize any deviations from the novels that they feel are necessary, not to mention editing the project. There are actually a lot of steps involved in creating a serious like this so it’s going to take a fair amount of time in order to ensure that everything is done correctly. In addition, the studio obviously wants to turn out a quality product so rushing things along in order to get them done is not something they’re really interested in doing. Instead, they would prefer to take some additional time and make sure that everything is done to a higher standard in order not to disappoint dedicated fans. In a way, this means that fans might be disappointed because they will have to wait longer but it also means that the end product is much more likely to be worth the wait. For now, fans will have to get their hands on those novels the minute they’re available and then use their imagination to entertain themselves until the series is released.
