10 Things You Didn’t Know about Len Kabasinski

Len Kabasinski has a rather interesting life, but when you realize it focuses largely around his influence in schlock movies a lot of people might turn up their noses and walk the other way. Some folks might still show a lot of interest since B movies, or schlock, can be kind of interesting and give a different perspective on various subjects that might not be as well covered in blockbusters that tend to gloss over certain points. Of course a lot of times B movies are lower on budget and don’t get a lot of attention since they don’t have the kind of money that’s needed to hype them up in a big way. Len is one of those that happens to have found and utilized schlock movies as a career and a hobby and has been involved with several of them throughout his career thus far. He’s got several other interests, but this is one that seems to draw a lot of attention.

Here are a few things you might not have known about him.

10. He’s a black belt in Tae Kwan Do and Tang Soo Do.

When it comes to being tough this guy is for real since he’s managed to advance to an impressive level in both disciplines and is skilled enough that he’s been seen to be one of the top men in the country when it comes down to competition. Whether competition relates to actual street toughness is hard to state since most people don’t go looking for fights to prove their skills.

9. He has a BA in Communications and one in Theatre Arts.

Len is an educated man and his skills in Theatre Arts are a big part of what helps him out when it comes to the movies. Communications can be used in various ways as well and could be a huge boon if he uses that knowledge in a manner that could continue to help his career.

8. He’s a fight choreographer.

Given his proficiency with martial arts this makes a lot of sense. Now whether he’s going to be able to guide people in various forms of martial combat other than those that he’s learned is something that might be interesting to find out, but the basics and the disciplines he knows would obviously be right up his alley.

7. He owns over 200 movie posters, some of them are even signed.

You’ve got to think of where he might hang them all, and then you get the idea that some might not be hanging but instead framed or somehow preserved and stored away if he ever needs to bring them out. Plus a lot of them are from B movies that he happens to like and there are a few of them that have been signed by well-known actors.

6. He’s been in several B movies.

Len hasn’t been shy about stepping in front of the camera. It does seem as though his camera skills when he’s filming need a little work now and again, but there’s nothing like experience to teach someone what they need to improve on.

5. He ranked #1 in weapons Kata in Pennsylvania.

Being number one in your area is great but being number one in the entire state is even better. What it means is that you managed to train harder, longer, and pick up more skill along the way than most of your competitors and it showed at just the right time for someone to notice.

4. He was a zombie extra in Zombiegeddon.

This is where he got his start and where everything started coming together for him. It’s hard to say that he’s got a stellar career going but at the very least he’s doing what he wants and making films so you can’t say that he hasn’t had any success.

3. He’s choreographed musical plays.

If he can choreograph a fight scene then doing the same for a play might be kind of easy as it’s just as technical but is a little more basic one would think. Of course the experience he has in moving his body in the way he needs could help a lot.

2. He owns 6 guitars.

You might wonder why anyone would own so many guitars, but quite honestly he’s the kind of guy that seems to enjoy the things he has and doesn’t just buy them to have them. There’s also no doubt that he knows how to play them as well.

1. He named his dog after Steve Largent.

People name their pets for different things, people, and even places all the time, but Largent as a name for a dog is kind of unique. He’s also the only Seattle Seahawk currently in the Hall of Fame, and that seems to have factored into his decision a bit.

He might seem like an odd guy but he’s got an interesting life.
