Before you get too caught up in thinking that someone managed to create a TV series using Fatal Attraction as the basis you should know that this show is more about real life fatal attractions and has nothing to do with Glenn Close or Michael Douglas. Instead it explores the real life cases that have happened when a steamy or forbidden romance goes a little too far and people end up losing their minds over it. This is more or less a documentary-type crime show that starts out with the particulars of each case and then goes back to revisit the different details of the incident using reenactments.
The show managed to gain some popularity it seems as people are constantly drawn to drama and the lives of others in an effort to be entertained, but in some ways the show seems a bit macabre and even invasive. But looking at it from another angle the program might actually seem like something that could stand as a cautionary note to those watching on what not to do and what to avoid in relationships. Of course if a person needed to be told that abuse and lack of balance in a relationship were things that needed to be avoided then they’re kind of out of luck already. The basis of any fatal attraction usually has a lot to do with one individual not being involved enough or getting involved in the first place. There are many reasons why people cheat on their significant others, but those that are attacked by their significant others without ever cheating on them have other problems. It’s a big mess that’s easy enough to sort out in terms of running the show, but seems to get messier the more one gets involved in the entire sordid mess.
If you remember the movie then you’ll know that the reason some people get involved with those they shouldn’t can be attributed to loneliness, heartache, or just the thrill and adventure of it. Any way one slices it though, getting into an extra-marital affair is never a good idea. When it has to do with a couple that has no link to anyone else getting into it like this however then there are usually underlying problems that have not been addressed or have arisen due to various troubles that might be internal or external. It’s hard to know just why someone would flip on another person until you know the whole story, and relationships tend to make the motive for harming someone rather messy. One thing is certain though and that’s when things get violent it’s time to step back and reassess the situation, or simply remove yourself from it.
The show airs on TV One and is in it’s seventh season. Having been started up in 2013 it’s managed to gain a modest following since many shows like this tend to interest people simply for their entertainment value. That might sound a little morbid but it’s very true that people love to watch the lives and times of others.
