There seems to be no shortage of programs that want to model the transition from childhood to adulthood and Degrassi is perhaps one of the most watched or at least remembered shows that has inspired memes of nearly every character to emerge for the enjoyment of fans and casual observers. Degrassi: The Next Generation, was a show that depicted the many hardships that those young folks living on Degrassi street had to deal with on a continual basis and how they molded their lives around the issues they had to deal with and the interactions they had with others. The fact that they’ve become memes isn’t all that surprising largely because as a soap-opera style show they’re one of the perfect targets.
Those issues we see as all-important and life altering in our teen years become kind of overblown and little more than dramatic minutes and hours that seem wasted once we get older. But in the moment, when people are still young and the moments are still coming fast and furious, it’s the definition of how a life is made if you ask any teenager just how they feel about any particular issue that’s going on in their life. Being a teenager has a lot to do with how to handle the drama in your life and how about half of it doesn’t make sense most times. Thankfully memes tend to bring that point home more often than not and are able to make people laugh at the same time. Because really that’s a big part of what it means to grow up, you learn to laugh at yourself more often than not or you continue to fight against going crazy as life keeps beating you over the head with its strange sense of logic.
That’s what you call ironic, not to mention a serious stab in the back.
It’s strange how friends don’t hold any grudges, but it’s an important lesson about toxic people too.
Oddly, young women define ‘men’ a little differently when they’re younger than they do once they gain a bit of life experience.
I don’t like you, I just want a functioning part of you for my very own.
Nothing says “I love you man” like injuring a good friend in a way he’ll never forget.
You know, the ones that say they’re sorry in between bullying sessions.
You’d have to have a seriously good sense of humor for this.
That seems like it might be a trend starting, and not the worst one to date.
It’s important to keep the goals low, that way there’s room for growth.
It’s amazing how much different a person looks when he’s not acting as though he’s handicapped.
Can we turn this around make ‘nuh’ a thing?
We’ve all met people like this during our school years.
Time to invest in tear-proof makeup.
Nothing’s hotter than being called another girl’s name by her ex, right?
This is the weird, twisted logic of life that simply makes no sense but is made to appear that it does.
How many of us are glad not to be teenagers any longer?
