Five Things You Didn’t Know about Odeya Rush

Five Things You Didn’t Know about Odeya Rush

Odeya Rush is an American actor that began her career at the age of 14. So far she’s been in a couple of noted films and has even written, produced, and directed her own short film. To date she’s still an up and comer on the movie scene but she’s gaining ground fast based on her talent and her looks. The latter might sound horrible but it’s easily explained as she does tend to resemble a very famous actress that is quite popular. While this isn’t the source of her fame it’s still a noticeable physical trait that many people tend to notice. But when they notice her for the talent she possesses then they take an even greater interest.

Sometimes looking like someone else can be a great conversation-starter.

5. She was born in Haifa, Israel.

Her family moved to Alabama when she was eight years old and at one point moved Los Angeles where they are now. They moved in accordance with her father’s work, which seems like a long way to go for a job, but people have got to work. In the long run though it was a good thing since Odeya has flourished here and has become a great source of pride to her family, who supports her wholeheartedly.

4. She’s a very active young lady.

It would seem that Odeya doesn’t like to sit still all that often as she balances her acting with such activities as singing, dancing, swimming, and biking. Obviously she likes to stay busy and has a wide variety of interests that keep her from spending too much time lying around, if any. That’s admirable in a country where a lot of people are leading very sedentary lives on a regular basis these days.

3. She’s compared to Mila Kunis quite often.

This can be seen in her face most of all since she does resemble the Bad Moms star. However, her features are a bit softer it would seem than Kunis’ and her eyes aren’t quite as penetrating. There’s an air of innocence to her that Mila doesn’t quite have since she looks a little more intense than Odeya. It’s not a bad comparison at all however since Mila Kunis is very popular and quite beautiful.

2. Her name means “Thank God”.

Odeya’s parents couldn’t decide what to name her and so her father opened a bible one day and lo and behold he found a name that they both agreed upon. In Hebrew her name means “Thank God”, so they went with it and didn’t discuss the matter any more. At least they didn’t start throwing darts at a list of names, some people actually joke about doing such a thing. Poor kids.

1. Her parents were very supportive of her acting dreams.

When her family made it to the US Odeya was adamant about becoming an actress. Her father was perfectly okay with it but told her that she would have to learn how to speak English first. That’s sound advice really when you want to play to an American crowd.

So far her career has been hitting high notes, hopefully it continues in that fashion.
