We all have that personality that we look up to, or we once looked up to as a role model. In most cases, they are persons who have achieved a lot more than we have in their line of work, economically, religiously, politically, or even morally. Moreover, they are usually people who are well known in society, and appreciated for the contributions they have made towards making the world a better place to live in. Other times, they could be just people who have made us feel better about ourselves, although they didn’t really know us. That was the case Adele when she decided to Dolly Parton with Amazing Transformation.
Adele who is a Grammy-award winner posted a picture of herself, in an outfit that resembles what Dolly Parton used to wear during her performances. In the photo, Adele wore a pink ensemble and a blonde wig. To complete her tribute, she wrote that Dolly Parton was the “effortless Queen of Song,” and that she and others loved Dolly. She continued to say that she and others wished they had as much as an ounce of Dolly’s talent in music, and Dolly Parton used to be the hero of her nights! She concluded by writing that she will always love Dolly Parton. Dolly, who is a native of Tennessee responded by commenting on the photo, saying that she too will always love Adele.
Such sentiments coming from a musician, who is widely accepted as talented must be humbling to many. Furthermore, it’s a reminder that we should let those we care about, know what we truly feel about them. Adele made history with her single, “Someone Like You,” which established her as one of the greatest singers of her time. However, the song turned out to be just stepping stone to her next hit, “Rolling in the Deep.” The later song catapulted her to world fame as it gave her heart broken followers the rallying call of “we would have had it all.” She sings that phrases with gusto, which sends fans into frenzy.
In 2011, her single “Rolling in the Deep,” became a worldwide hit. It was widely accepted as the biggest crossover to grace global charts within the last 25 years. The song charted on rock, hip-hop/R&B, pop/adult, Latin, and dance charts within the United States. She therefore became the only singer whose single has topped all those charts in the same period. While many singers struggle to project a smooth opera-voice, Adele won fans with a voice laced with emotion, which resonated well with almost anybody who heard her songs, and had been in a relationship at some point in their life.
One can almost say that her style matches Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” In the popular song, Dolly shares her sentiments in an utmost tone with a rival that evokes emotions of mercy. Overall, from the two stars, it’s clear that songs that are able to evoke emotions from the hearts of listeners, and help them to relate to their life experiences are mostly likely to do well than any other.
