One thing we know about Survivor: Ghost Island, is that it’s going to be the 36th season of the show to date, and something that a lot of fans won’t want to miss. Apart from that Ghost Island is going to almost like a homecoming for a lot of fans since the creators are bringing back a lot of items from the past shows. Ghost Island is about to become more of a whimsical haunt than just a place of exile, a spot where contestants will be able to find relics and advantages and even remove themselves from the politics of the game for a little while.
Fans are going to be seeded into the show this time around as well, meaning that they might have an understanding of the game and be able to at least think through certain situations as much as possible. But you know how that goes, as soon as someone thinks they have something figured out the rules can change and stuff can get flipped in a heartbeat. Survivor is notorious for making life difficult on the contestants and making sure that they’re more than ready to vote someone off when the time is right or when they feel that it makes perfect sense.
Ghost Island and all its details are being handed out sparingly at the moment so as to keep as much surprise as possible and not allow anyone to concoct a solid plan to run the game. Something tells me that just like any season of the show however there are going to be more than a few surprises. On a show where the contestants are vying for a $1 million dollar prize it’s bound to get cutthroat at some point.
The inclusion of fans for this season is something interesting since it would seem that people who have watched the show from the start might have some sort of advantage against those that never have. Survivor has been such a big part of our culture for so long that many people have been watching it religiously and know just how the game is played. You would think that might help a person but in reality there’s no real help here. The producers are already planning on making things as hard as they possibly can within the limits and are bound to stick to their guns so to speak. There’s going to be a lot of wheeling and dealing this season and the ghosts of Survivor past are going to be making themselves felt and heard throughout the season as the contestants continue to vie with one another for the prize. Planning is not going to be one of the best options for those that think they know what’s going on.
The name of the season basically sets the groundwork for what it’s going to be all about. This season of Survivor is going to be all about bad decisions made in the past, and what the current contestants can do to reverse them. Ghost Island starts out on February 28th.
