Female stand up comedians have been coming out in a big way when it comes to gaining popularity. Some of them aren’t well liked by a lot of people but that doesn’t really matter so long a they’re liked by enough folks to make it worth signing them to a gig. Their humor is just as much of a hit and miss thing as male comics most of the time and if you don’t like then you don’t have to watch. And honestly if you don’t like it they won’t care, they’ll find some way to make someone else like it and get a laugh out of them. Comics are people that get up onstage and put themselves out there for laughs, so if you’re not laughing it means they’re not doing something right, yet.
Women though have got some seriously good material that men can touch but can’t make work in the same way.
5. Amy Schumer
I’ll be completely honest and say that I don’t like Amy Schumer. There’s something about the woman that I don’t care for and truthfully that I don’t see changing. But that doesn’t change the fact that she has made her way into the hearts of so many because she’s been funny enough to be counted as an intelligent and very successful comic. People like her so that’s enough, and she’s made one heck of a career.
4. Ali Wong
One thing I’ve noticed about female comics is that they will most definitely rip on other women when it comes to their jokes, which is seriously funny since most of it’s true. It also gives you an insight to just what some women must be thinking when they look at each other since men tend to be a little more vocal about it and aren’t as, well, catty. Ali Wong kind of proves this point with her comedy.
3. Anjelah Johnson
If you hear a male comic talk about marriage you might laugh, but to hear a female comic on marriage and relationships is just outright hilarious. It could be male pride or something that makes men kind of think they’re greater than they are, but women like Anjelah Johnson definitely know how to bring us back to reality. It’s refreshing to be honest, especially for those men that think they’re God’s gift to the world.
2. Rhea Butcher
Rhea Butcher is a little dry to be honest when it comes to her delivery but she brings that punchline forth with enough oomph to really get it there and make it count. She makes no bones about who she is and uses a lot of it for her comedy. She might not get the biggest applause but she’s not a bad storyteller along with her jokes. She might be someone to watch as the years go by.
1. Tiffany Haddish

Tiffany Haddish is kind of like a rock star with her mentality and her comedy and shows her stuff while strutting it across the stage in a way that makes you laugh. She’s not so much stuck up as she is confident and ready to deliver all the sass she wants to the audience. As a comic she’s someone that you might need to warm up to but when you do she’s very funny.
Female comics are sometimes a little more dramatic but they’re every bit as funny because of it.
