The Top Uses of Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl” in Movies or TV

Richard Lewis Springthorpe, better known as Rick Springfield, is an Australian sing and songwriter, as well as actor, that went off on his solo career after being a part of the rock group known as Zoot. His song Jessie’s Girl was based on a woman that he could never meet but was someone that he desperately wanted to get to know. The idea was originally that the song came from an encounter during a class he had with a friend and his girlfriend, but he never really knew her that well so it was kind of a basis, not so much a true story in regards to that aspect. The song has been used in a bunch of TV and movie spots and is still fairly popular since most people will bust out singing once they hear the familiar chords start to play.

A lot of guys have at least had one girl in their life that would have fit into this song.

5. Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time is a very unique show in that it takes a wide variety of fairy tales and gathers them together in a cohesive effort to tell an epic and seemingly unending tale. I say unending largely because so long as the story is allowed to breathe and move as it will there is never really an ending to anything, only a pause here and there as the characters decide on where to go and what to do next.

4. Ellen: The Ellen Degeneres Show

A lot of people love the Ellen show and tune in just to hear her comical words from time to time and her take on various issues that might be a concern of so many. Besides that however she does feature some interesting guests on her show fairly often and Rick Springfield just happened to be one of the many that has been allowed to grace the daytime show.

3. Two and a Half Men

There’s still a lot of debate on who did the show better, Charlie Sheen or Ashton Kutcher. Those who love Sheen’s character either stand by him still or at least remember the good old days when the show was just getting started. Kutcher’s fans, if there are that many, insist that he finally brought some much needed comedy back to the show minus the drama.

2. Hot Tub Time Machine

This seems like a silly premise for a movie, but then you watch it and can’t help but laugh at the various antics and 80’s-inspired themes that are seen throughout the film. It’s a laugh riot once the guys go back in time and start trying to relive the days they regret so much, especially since they now have a chance to remedy everything and make a better life.

1. 13 Going On 30

You never realize just what being a grown up is all about when you’re a kid. Once you’re here though you’re stuck, and there’s no going back for a do-over. If you want to wish for anything, wish that you have a happy life and don’t make too many mistakes.

Rick Springfield is still rocking it, and doing it in style.
