Did anyone realize it was possible to be this dim and still be considered an intelligent person? Megan Kelly’s first week as a talk show host did not inspire a lot of faith in her overall intelligence, largely because she seems to have lost the filter that went over the words she wants to speak on a continual basis. If she was looking to insult fans and celebrities alike then she gets an A for the effort since she’s been on a tear when it comes to speaking without really thinking about what it is that she’s saying. Otherwise it’s not a big surprise why so many people are anti-Kelly at this time.
It could be feasible to think that some of her words and quotes were taken out of context and didn’t mean exactly what they’ve been taken as but the straight up truth is that Kelly is not what you would think of as a nice person when it comes to speaking her mind. As a journalist he’s one of the most opinionated people that’s ever held a microphone and one of the last folks that should be out interviewing people. There seems to be no level she won’t sink to and no question too taboo to ask. She doesn’t even seem to take into consideration the fact that her questions actually bother the people she’s speaking to. That’s a person who really doesn’t care about other people’s opinions and just wants the ratings.
Oh she’ll get them no doubt, but they might not be the ratings she wants once she sees them. While she was somehow tolerated when she was working strictly for Fox News, the act of giving her a show all her own is tantamount to giving a child a pair of scissors and telling them to make you something pretty. The end result is always going to be trouble and you might have done way more damage than you intended. It’s enough to think that the people who gave Kelly her own show should have actually watched her highlights on Fox News and decided that doing such a thing would be like lighting a match to make your way through a darkened warehouse filled with dynamite. There’s a chance you might come out unscathed, so long as you don’t get too reckless.
Yes, that’s it. Kelly is reckless and careless with her questions and statements in a way that simply promotes bad judgment and eventual disdain from those she interviews. Plus, saying such things as Santa Claus is white and Jesus is white too don’t necessarily spark a lot of faith in a newscaster or a talk show host. And disregarding how some people might feel about certain questions while laughing it off isn’t always the best idea either. In the interview with Jane Fonda and Robert Redford it almost looked like Fonda was broadsided when Kelly decided to ask her about plastic surgery.
Until she manages to think about others and not her own ratings it’s safe to say that Megan Kelly should step away from the camera.
