The reimagining of team logos with Pokemon isn’t something that’s all that new. However, with regard to sports I can safely say we haven’t seen it utilized in the NBA style before. I’ve seen NFL style, MLB style, and even NHL style logos with Pokemon substitutes but never have I seen the NBA, at least not all 32 teams in the league. However as you’ll see in these photos via Deezlobs,on Imgur, they did a heck of a job.
Something tells me that Brooklyn would want a tougher image than this Pokemon can give them. It just seems too happy and squishy for a professional sport. I could be wrong.
There’s something inherently off-putting about adopting such a cutesy face for a sports logo, especially one that’s continually smiling.
At least it looks like something you might find in Dallas, but I get the feeling that it’s anything like what they would really want.
I guess you could call that a crown of sorts. Aside from the slightly goofy face on the bottom it wouldn’t be an all around terrible logo.
It’d be a little hard to take a team seriously when their jersey has this looking back at the opponent. The game might need to be called for excessive laughter.
That is one aggressive-looking critter. Either that or he’s got a medical condition we don’t know about. If you’re a Pokemon fan then you might be offended. Sorry, I did warn you.
This one isn’t actually that bad. It’s fierce and has a nice look to it that could be allow it to be used as an actual logo.
To be honest this thing looks like the cross between a snapping turtle and a giant grub. I don’t think Rip City would be that excited to see it.
This thing looks more like something you’d see in the toy aisle with the educational toys and the stuff they sell for infants.
You might think I’m crazy for this one but I get the impression of the hyenas from the Lion King mixed with KISS. It’s weird, I know.
Somehow I don’t see this going over well in Boston. Nope, not at all. Anyone that thinks to deliver this to the fans would have to notify their next of kin.
First the name sounds a bit silly, and then the logo is, not bad, but definitely not the kind of thing you’d want to see as a team’s mascot.
When it comes time to change logos I get the feeling that Pokemon will be one of the last things any NBA team looks at.
Now this one actually looks pretty cool, but if they kept the name Hornets on it, I know this is a gag and all, it would be a great logo.
I get the feeling that fans in Phoenix wouldn’t take too kindly to this and would start to turn on their team just a bit.
Can you even imagine the level of ridicule that Utah would be getting after adopting this logo? They might eventually be laughed out of the league.
I really don’t know. I just don’t.
I don’t know as something that looks like a bomb would be quite appropriate in a city such as New York. Might want to think that one through again.
It’s not too far removed from its original logo and name really. It might not be a bad idea.
Similar-looking creature and similar name in some ways. It could work.
Beartics sounds like a very strange word to use for an NBA team. I think too many people would be calling them the “Bear Ticks”.
Why would we think that cute and cuddly is the way to go with an NBA logo?
Somehow this looks a little suggestive. Don’t ask me how, it just does.
So Miami are a bunch of flaming monkeys? That doesn’t sound right, not at all.
How many people do you think would knock off the G and the S on that second word? Too many is my guess.
Huh boy. Not even going to touch this one.
Yeah, it might not be the same mimes that I’m thinking about but the word alone would make a lot of people groan.
It’s not too far off from the original so why not?
When you’re looking for a fish for your mascot it’s usually better to look for one that doesn’t seem to be perpetually surprised.
I think the Lakers are probably fine with their logo the way it is.
Okay, was this really necessary?
Yeah, my vote is to keep the NBA logos as they are. They’re not changing? Oh good.
