The Top America’s Got Talent Performances So Far This Year

America’s Got Talent is obviously one of the most interesting shows on television. Every week, people tune in to see some really great talent and in some cases, to get a kick out of watching the talent that isn’t so great. If you have missed a few episodes recently, you might be wondering about some of the top America’s Got Talent performances so far this year. Like every season, there are a few that truly stun the judges and the audience alike. So far, there have been numerous stand out performances. While there have certainly been more performances that are memorable, these 7 are the ones that truly stand head-and-shoulders above their competition.

Will Tsai

Tsai is a magician, but he is certainly not just any magician. The truth is, his skills could easily rival those of even the best magicians that have already established themselves. He further went on to impress the judges by creating an act that was specially designed for his audition. Even more impressing is the fact that he really didn’t have that much time to perfect his act, yet he managed to perform flawlessly during his audition.

Preacher Lawson

Lawson is a comedian and to be honest, he is one of the funniest individuals to come along in quite some time. Comedians have a difficult job. If people don’t think they’re funny within the first couple of lines, they’re usually done. Lawson managed to be funny enough to make the judges more than happy and he produced an act that audiences will not soon forget. Even when he was pressed by Simon Cowell to go off script, he still managed to deliver some one-liners that were nothing short of hilarious. This proves that he is capable of performing well under pressure and it just might mean that a lot more people will be hearing about him in the future.

Merrick Hanna

Most people love to watch other people dance and Hanna turned in an inspired performance in a contemporary dance about a dying robot, of all things. It might seem silly when you are reading about it, but to actually see Hanna’s performance is almost enough to make you shed tears and jump for joy at the same time. His level of skill with contemporary dance is absolutely amazing. If he should choose to pursue this further, there is no reason why he should not be able to have a productive career doing exactly what he wants to do.

Demian Aditya

Inspired by great escape artists from the past, Aditya really put a lot of work into his routine for the audition. He created an entirely new act that he had never performed before and he ratcheted everything up several notches by making it an act that could have easily ended his life had something gone wrong. He knew that there was a lot of hype surrounding that fact, so he capitalized on its entertainment value. While getting out of the enclosure he was locked into very quickly, he acted as though he was unable to get out as people swarmed in to help. His next move was amazing, as he simply blended in with the crowd and became one of the individuals helping. Only when things reached a fever pitch did he let the audience and the judges know that he was alive and well. This proves he has both the skill and the understanding of the entertainment industry to get the most bang for his buck in whatever he does.

Darci Lynn Farmer

Originality is not something the we see all that often in performing acts these days. But when Darcy Lynne Farmer came onstage during an episode of America’s Got Talent originality is exactly what the audience got. It’s not that ventriloquism is so original but as Darcy pointed out, it’s an art that’s not nearly as favorable today as it used to be. However, what the audience got wasn’t just a taste of Darcy’s skill of throwing her voice, they were treated to an amazing singer as well.

Christian Guardino

Despite admittedly being “nervous,” 16-year-old Christian Guardino blew America’ Got Talent judges away during one episode with a chill-inducing rendition of Who’s Lovin’ You. Prior to his emotional performance, Guardino’s mom told the cameras that when he was just six-months-old she was told her son “was going to go completely blind.” At 12, his mom says “experimental gene therapy” helped him regain his sight. Shortly after he began belting out The Jackson 5 tune, judge Simon Cowell’s eyes widened and Howie Mandel stood to applaud the young artist.

Mandy Harvey

Although America’s Got Talent brought Harvey to national prominence, she has had a series of successes since she started singing again. For example, she has released three albums, which include one that has been praised by critics in the jazz genre. Furthermore, she has performed a full concert at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which is one of the busiest facilities of its kind in the whole of the United States. However, the most interesting fact might be how she has become a motivational speaker, which is perhaps unsurprising in light of the obstacles that she has managed to overcome in order to pursue her dreams.
