While the show Scrubs is often recognized as the platform of the male hunks, there were some very attractive women on that show as well. Of course, many of the female fans will probably not remember, because they were focused on all of the men on the show. One gorgeous female actress that more than holds her own when it comes to being attractive is Judy Reyes. Now, that the show has ended, Judy has moved on to bigger and better things, but there is still so much that fans of the show don’t know about this immensely beautiful star.
It is amazing how a show can be on for so long and one of the original cast members can literally float right underneath the radar, but the following are five things that fans didn’t know about Judy Reyes.
1. She is of Dominican Descent
While it is obvious that Judy has Latino heritage, it may not be as easy to determine its origin, and if you talk to any person of Latino descent, they will make sure that you understand that the origin of that descent is just as important as the destination. Judy’s heritage can be traced to the Dominican Republic, but she was born in Bronx, New York, and those New York roots are evident in the characters she represents in front of the camera.
2. She Has a Twin Sister
What many people do not know is that Judy has a Twin sister who does act, although she has not taken her acting career a serious as Judy. In fact, you may have thought you were looking at Judy when Jocelyn appeared on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. It is not certain if Jocelyn will ever really make a major move into the acting world. It is immensely difficult for twine to both experience high levels of success in Hollywood.
3. She Got Her Start at Hunter College
Although Manhattan’s Hunter College may not carry the level of recognition and popularity of New York University or a Julliard, it is definitely a university that attracts a lot of the locals, and it has the capacity to provide access to a broader view of life. It was at Hunter College that Judy developed her interest in acting, and it was this interest that takes on a role in an independent film, Jack and His Friends, back in 1992. She would follow that up with more theater appearances and eventually make the shift to Hollywood.
4. She Founded the LABryinth Theater Company
With Judy coming from a culture that is considered a minority background, she definitely understands the importance of providing opportunities for people of diverse background to be able to express themselves without inhabitation, so she founded the LABryinth Theater Company, which provide the ideal platform for people from diverse backgrounds to express themselves through the discipline of acting.
5. Scrubs Is Not Her Only Role As a Nurse
It seems that Judy has a natural knack for playing nurses as an actress. Yes, everyone knows that she played Nurse Carla Espinosa in Scrubs, but very few people remember that she also played a nurse in Bringing Out the Dead in 1999. Whether Scrubs or Bringing Out the Dead, she makes being a nurse look good, and for millions of men, she creates a sudden need to visit an emergency room.
