I’d say 99% of people who have seen Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 are humongous fans of the movies. To be honest it’s nearly impossible not to like these films. From the humor to the action to the charm of Chris Pratt as Starlord and cuteness of Baby Groot, there’s something for just about everyone to like in these movies. Even if you don’t like the actual movies themselves you cannot help but to like the music thus making the movie somewhat interesting just from a listening perspective.
However, did you know that the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack album was a pretty huge hit here in the United States? Not only that, but it was a massive compilation with zero original music. It turns out that The Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming the first soundtrack album in history consisting entirely of previously released songs to top the chart.
So in essence we can conclude that technically the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack is, by sales ratings, considered to be the best mix tape of all-time. Chalk up another win for GOTG.
