I haven’t really discussed Fifty Shades of Grey much on this site because frankly I think the entire book series and movies are pointless. This is in no way me saying they are not quality pieces of writing. And frankly I can’t deny that many people found the movies to be enjoyable but every time I hear of these films or books I always think to myself “if you want porn, then just go and get porn. I mean really?” How is this any different than late night Cinemax? One thing I’ll say is this. You really have to hand it to E.L. James for creating a best selling novel series when really all this is about is kinky sex stuff.
I could be on the shallow side with this analysis but come on! I’ve seen the first movie and it did absolutely nothing for me and the only reason I watched it was because of my wife. Believe me, I have plenty of “material” to watch that’s way more interesting than this movie. All I have to do is search the internet and type in whatever terms I wish and it’s all out there for me. So why or how this got into the mainstream is still a mystery to me. I think James may have made a deal with the devil. It’s the only logical conclusion. Anyway, one outlet that shares my same sentiment is Screenjunkies. They felt now was as good a time as any to give Fifty Shades Darker the honest trailer treatment.
