Jimmy Kimmel Creates Brutally Honest Ad for United Airlines

By far the biggest piece of news to hit the world yesterday was the video captured on an overbooked United Airlines flight. A doctor who really needed to get to a hospital the next morning was asked to get off the plane because of the overbooking situation. When he refused he was literally dragged off the plane. However, not before he was bloodied and virtually unconscious. He was then literally dragged off of the plane almost looking like a victim in a homicide. In the video you can hear the passengers screaming in horror. All of them were dumbfounded at what was going on and it was evident that everyone on the plane was extremely upset at the situation.

As you can imagine the story and video went viral. By the time it got into the hands of late night talk show hosts, they had plenty of time to prepared their responses. The best response came from Jimmy Kimmel Live. After United Airlines sent out a statement via Twitter apologizing “for having to reaccommodate” its customers, Kimmel responded with:

“That is such sanitized, say-nothing, take-no responsibility, corporate BS speak.  I don’t know how the guy who sent that tweet didn’t vomit when he typed it out.”

To show off the company’s new attitude, Kimmel created a fake commercial that includes the footage of the customer being pulled off the plane and no shortage of threats. “We’ll beat you so badly you’ll be using your own face as a flotation device,” a flight attendant in the ad says with a smile.
