One of the things I admire most about the movie Jurassic Park is that this film was made in 1993. Even today those dinosaurs look real. They really do. We’re talking 24 years of technology taking place after this film and I still get freaked out by those raptors. Speaking of which, there’s a clip that got uploaded way back in 2012 that’s generated over 7 million views that I’ve never seen before and wanted to share with you guys.
It’s called “Evolution of a Raptor Suit” and it’ll truly make you appreciate how the “coming to life” of dinosaurs actually took place on film. It’s almost more of an educational video from the Stan Winston School than anything else.
But what makes this so intriguing is that the film literally takes you from inception to what the raptors look like on screen. I found it to be incredibly fascinating. Even more interesting is that many of these tactics are still used today. While CGI tends to dominate the box office these days, there’s still room for a human in a raptor suit.
