Dark Matter

Apple TV+ Dark Matter TV series

Season 1: 8 Episodes

Dark Matter offers science fiction at its best. Apple TV+ has had a growing reputation and success with its sci-fi series in recent years. Released on May 8, 2024, Dark Matter was created by Blake Crouch, and the series is based on his 2016 novel. Making Blake Crouch the showrunner for a series adapted from his book makes Dark Matter a lot more exciting and intriguing for sci-fi audiences. In the Joel Edgerton-led Dark Matter, quantum physicist Jason Dessen kidnaps an alternate version of himself in another universe so he can enjoy life as a family man.

The entire series is based on quantum mechanics’ many-worlds interpretation that suggests alternate universes are created for decisions not taken. Although he excelled as a quantum physicist in his universe, in another universe, Jason Dessen gave up his career pursuit to marry the love of his life. However, the kidnapped Jason Dessen has no plan to remain in an unknown universe. Dark Matter follows his search to return home and protect his family from his parallel universe self.
