While checking over their archive and inventories, an illustration studio from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia retrieved a substantial collection of unpublished art that were either self-initiated art experiments or abandoned commissions.
The collective art was mostly a collaborative effort made by a team of 15 illustrators from time to time. At first glance, it seemed impossible to define a singular body of work for the collective art as all their styles and techniques were totally different.
Then an interesting thing happened when the illustrations were playfully paired with matching movie quotes. Although unintentional at first, the end results were charmingly inspiring and surprisingly well connected to the context of the original artwork.
The collections are currently being published under a continuous project named Artascy, where random styles of illustrations are made into beautiful art prints; each pairing with a matching movie quote to evoke a new inspiration to both the artwork and a particular movie.
