Kicking and Screaming is essentially a film about working out daddy issues that the lead character, Phil, has with his dad Buck. After Phil’s son is transferred from his dad’s team to the worst team in the league, Phil takes over the coaching duties and begins to act just like his dad did when he was young. Upon realizing this he tells his son and his team to do the opposite of what he’s telling them, which ends up working his team ends up beating his dad’s team, much to everyone’s surprise. It’s not exactly a feelgood movie but it’s something that reminds you that winning isn’t everything and that family is family for life, no matter what your family might be like.
