Casey Anthony: An American Murder Mystery Starts Three Night Run on Investigation Discovery

People seem to forget that back in 2008, the Casey Anthony case all began with her own mother calling for Casey to be arrested.  That’s right folks.  Cindy Anthony made a 911 call to the police claiming her car was stolen and that it was none other than daughter Casey who she claimed stole the car.  Once police arrived, they learned something far more shocking – that 2-year-old Caylee Anthony had been missing for a month.  This is the beginning of the Casey Anthony story.

It’s a story that’s considered one of the most talked about murder stories and jury verdicts in United States history.  As many of you know Casey Anthony is a free woman today but many (the majority of) people who followed the case and have seen and heard the evidence, think that Anthony 100% got away with murder. Now for the first time the events, the trial, and everything surrounding the murder are being explored in a three part series on Investigation Discovery.

  • Part One, called Little Girl Lost, looks at then 22-year-old Casey’s claim that Caylee had been taken by the nanny, before detectives found out the toddler had been missing for a month.
  • Part Two, called A Shallow Grave, focuses on the start of the 2011 trial as the defense put forward allegations of a shocking nature while the prosecution reveal their own theory of how Caylee died.
  • Part Three, called Ten Hours, Forty Minutes, sees the defence become the focus as the trial continues, before the not-guilty verdict prompts outrage across the US.

Here’s a preview below:
