Lee Pace is an American actor of some note. In 2002, he started out on the TV screen, playing a one-episode role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit that proved successful enough to see him playing further roles in other TV shows such as Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies. Recently, some people will recognize him as the protagonist Joe MacMillan on Halt and Catch Fire, which has come to a close after 40 episodes over the course of four seasons.
However, other people might recognize him because of his movie roles, with examples ranging from Thranduil in The Hobbit to Ronan the Accuser in Guardians of the Galaxy. Regardless, considering some of the roles that Pace has played over the course of his career, it should come as no surprise to learn that he has a sizable fan base. One that happens to have expressed some interest in seeing him play a role in American Gods, which is an adaptation of the book of the same name that is being executive produced by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green.
What Is Lee Pace’s Connection to Bryan Fuller?
The previous TV shows in Bryan Fuller have had a clear influence on his current results on American Gods. For example, the look of American Gods is rather reminiscent in places of Hannibal. Furthermore, it is interesting to note that Fuller has played with more supernatural elements in the past, as shown by Pushing Daisies, which was centered around a man named Ned who could resurrect the dead with a touch but could not touch them a second time without causing the resurrected to fall dead.
Pace has played important roles in not one but two of Fuller’s previous TV shows. The first time, he played Aaron Tyler in Wonderfalls, while the second time, he played Ned in Pushing Daisies. Although neither TV show managed to last that long, both managed to show a fair amount of potential, so much so that there are still a fair number of people who remember them with fondness. Regardless, what is clear is that Pace seemed to have had an excellent relationship with Fuller, meaning that it was natural for interested individuals to wonder whether he would make an appearance on Fuller’s latest TV show.
Will We Ever See Lee Pace on American Gods?
At the time, even if both Pace and Fuller were interested, a role for Pace would have been impossible because of scheduling conflicts. After all, Pace was still shooting Halt and Catch Fire at the time, which was a full-time commitment because of his status as the lead. However, said TV show has since come to an end, meaning that Pace now has more time for other projects.
Unfortunately, while Fuller and Green have been asked about whether Pace will be making an appearance on American Gods, they expressed positive sentiments along the lines that they would be willing to work with Pace at any time. However, positive sentiments are not the same as confirmation, meaning that interested individuals will have to wait and see. Still, that has not stopped some fans from venturing into optimistic speculation, though to be fair, the positive nature of the response means that their optimism is not wholly without reason.
