Watch Twelve Cameos on Gilmore Girls in Under 90 Seconds

In 90 seconds you can see up to about 12 cameos on the Gilmore Girls if you watch the clip below. This spot was created to promote the Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life DVD release. In the clip you can see stars such as Melissa McCarthy, Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia, and even Liza Wells.  Like a lot of shows Gilmore Girls had its fair share of guest stars and celebrity cameos throughout its run. It enjoyed the added lift that such celebrities could give and also added to their star power as well. The story itself is one that a lot of people have grown close to and have thoroughly enjoyed.

It doesn’t start out as the most positive of stories really, since Lorelai became pregnant at the age of sixteen and moved away from the comfort of her parents’ home. Having the kind of financial backing that her parents could have afforded didn’t really appeal to her since she wanted to get away and live her own life. So she moved to Stars Hollow where she became a maid in return for being allowed to stay. Eventually she became the executive manager, which meant that she could easily afford to take care of her daughter and herself.

However when her daughter was accepted to a preparatory school Lorelai discovers she can’t pay the tuition and is then forced to go back to her parents to ask for the money. They’re kind enough to give her a loan but only on the condition that she and her daughter Rory come over for dinner every Friday night. And so begins the awkward relationship as the Gilmore’s begin to hash out their differences and discuss the life choices that Lorelai has made for herself and her daughter.

The show is titled comedy-drama and it lives up to that title every step of the way. The one thing that might detract from the show however is that a lot of the comedy seems to be either tongue-in-cheek, which is fine and all, or so muted that one has to enjoy the clean and wholesome sitcom-type of humor that was popular decades ago. There are plenty of folks that enjoy and prefer the cleaner, less deviant type of humor, which could be why Gilmore Girls was so popular for its 7-year run.

In some cases the show plays out like a parody of a soap opera as well since Lorelai can’t seem to decide who she wants to be with. She has a love interest, but she still has feelings for Rory’s father. She has three boyfriends throughout the course of the show, one of them a bad boy, one of them a town local, and the other a wealthy man. This seems a common thread in a lot of drama-comedies, that the love interests are either plentiful or somehow complicated in a way that isn’t easy to define.

Like everything else though that seems as though it was one of the things that made the show great.
