Wandavision Gets Fan Made Friends-Style Intro

This kind of makes one wonder if there were any Friends references in WandaVision, but with everything that was packed into this show, it’s hard to really think off the top of our heads just whether there was or not, especially since they did manage to run from the 50s era to the modern-day with the references that came and went so quickly. But adding in a Friends-style trailer works perfectly since the sitcom feel of WandaVision, based on Wanda’s own memories of her family life in Sokovia we learned late in the season, was the whole point. Thanks to the combination of her grief, rage, her memories, and the immense power that she holds within her, Wanda was able to take the town of Westview and unwittingly create her own sitcom life that played out in a startlingly quick period of time that saw her and Vision go from being the quaint couple set in the 50s to the parents of two rapidly growing young boys in the modern era that were just trying to make do with what they had and were finding it more and more difficult as the boys manifested their own powers, and the threads of the private utopia that Wanda had created and Agatha Harkness had been helping to maintain began to break down.

Agatha’s reveal was a bit of a surprise since up until that moment a lot of people thought that Mephisto was going to be the big bad, or perhaps AIM would make their way into the fray. The teases didn’t stop there since the emergence of Evan Peters sparked rumors of the X-Men finally being brought into the MCU, though that turned out to be nothing as well. So did a few mentions here and there that had people theorizing and frothing at the mouth as they tried to think of who was going to be brought into the fray with each passing sentence. It was thought that Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four would be making an appearance, or that Monica Rambeau would become Photon, which she kind of did near the end. But really, the end of this series left a lot of people feeling kind of empty since the battle between Wanda and Agatha ended on a very anticlimactic note with Agatha being convinced by Wanda that she was the nosy neighbor she’d pretended to be, while Wanda had to let Vision go once again, while the White Vision had already flown off after battling his former self, which had imbued him with the memories that had been lost when he had the Soul Stone ripped out of his forehead by Thanos.

If you couldn’t tell, things are seriously spiraling in the MCU at the moment since WandaVision emerged, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier are taking things in another direction with the Flag Smashers and their own issues with the new Captain America, so there’s no reprieve from that quarter. But one thing has been made clear by airing this show and setting phase 4 into motion, the MCU is going to start ramping up again, only this time they’re coming from a very strong base that has already established several characters and is going to go deeper into their character development and further with their storylines, which is bound to be every bit as great as it sounds, hopefully. Where White Vision might show up again is hard to say, but Wanda will be headed to the Doctor Strange sequel while Agatha Harkness is a big question mark, though she too could be coming back eventually when she’s needed. Phase 4 is starting up with a lot of questions but it’s doing so in a manner that’s already getting people talking and hoping to see some of the more impressive members of the Marvel universe return and some of them finally emerge as the universe continues to expand and reveal more of those that have been waiting their turn.

It feels easy to say that Wanda is by far one of the more powerful individuals in the MCU at this point and if she continues to hone her powers she could be one of the most powerful given that, as a magic-user, she’s been one of the most dangerous people in the Marvel universe for many years, especially as her powers have evolved. Vision is still very much a part of the picture, but again, it’s not certain where he’ll show up. As far as anyone else, such as Fantastic Four, the X-Men, or even Photon or other Avengers, there are plenty of movies and shows that have been planned and it’s bound to happen that there will be more crossovers as the months and years go by. But this was likely one of the best ways to kick things off, without a doubt.
